Zubair Mahomed (b.1993) is a contemporary artist living in Cape Town, South Africa. He uses painting and digital illustration to create his bold and playful works. Zubair’s inspiration is drawn from his childhood memories, daily life and observations, amongst other subjects and is translated into cartoon-like pieces. He often combines well-known brands, items and icons with a tagline or sentiment, creating a new vernacular in which they are expressed.
